SLI Question

Greetings Ladies and Gents,
First off, pardon the English, I've been absent from Iceland for a long time and my Icelandic writing/typing skills are close to zero, altho I can read it without a problem, hopefully some of you will be able to help me out with a little question at hand.
Recently I purchased a new rig, just before Christmas, namely, the following:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz 8MB (G0)
Gigabyte X38-DS4 Motherboard
4GB DUAL DDR2 800MHz OCZ RAM
Gigabyte Nvidia 8800 GTS 512
Vista Ultimate
ANTEC P182 Tower
I really should have done a bit more research before buying my PC, I bought it for extensive gaming use, so my processor & operating system would no longer seem like such a good choice.
I've been running 3dMark06, all settings on stock, and I'm getting a fairly low score in comparison with other similar setups, namely around the 11500 mark. I looked into overclocking my CPU & GFX Card but since I'm fairly new at that, I'm not too sure if it's worth it for me. I've disabled all Vista applications such as Aero and User Accounts that eat up performance, I'm still faced with the fact that Windows Vista Ultimate eats up around 800mb of RAM, with every single non-system process switched off, good thing I got 4 gigs worth of it huh?
Well, now for the question of course,
I believe my motherboard is SLI compatible, I for one have no idea how SLI works but I do believe it has something to do with 2 GFX cards of the same type working together on a single monitor. Presumably each card taking care of the work on half the screen and vise versa.
1. What do I need to complete an SLI setup? Are there additional components/wiring necessary? Are these sold in Iceland?
2. Is the standard PSU (PowerSupplyUnit) sufficient to run 2x 8800 GTS 512?
3. Is it worth it? - The price of the 8800GTS 512 isn't all that expensive to be honest. Should I be looking at alternative ways of squeezing out more performance, via overclock or other means?
Any feedback to the above is greatly appreciated, feel free to reply in Icelandic, as I said, I don't have any problems reading it, just writing it!
